Even the strongest and healthiest of relationships can experience difficulties along the way. Counselling provides support to work through difficulties and develop an appropriate way forward.
As a trained couple's and relationship therapist, I will provide equity, balance and space for each partner to explore concerns.
Not all couples/relationship counselling is about staying together. It can be helpful to work through challenges and agree a way to separate, that is healthy and amicable for all concerned. This is where mediation-based therapy can help.
I have been working with couples for several years and experience of supporting relationships with a myriad of difficulties. Communication is, in my experience, the biggest issue for couples, as this creates the scaffolding to build the bond.
I work with several different theories and training models, which means I am an integrative practitioner. Systemic, Relational Psychodynamic, Dialogical and Solution Focused therapies are practiced.
I will work with you to formulate a plan that suits your therapy and relationship goals. The first session will be conducted with both partners. It is usual to then have one individual session each before coming back together to continue with the agreed goals for the relationship and therapy.

Importantly, this time will allow us to explore any safety concerns and how we will work together.
I find that this method moves the therapy forward and creates a focus for each person and the relationship, in synergy.
