I operate a waiting list system for specific appointment days/times; alternatively, I have a number of more flexible appointments available. Wait times are ordinarily one to two weeks. Please get in touch to explore your requirements.
Typically, a therapy appointment is 50 minutes for individuals and 60 minutes for couples.
The price difference for face-to-face appointments is due to the associated costs of room rental, together with travelling time. I have tried to keep this cost as low as possible.
The frequency of counselling sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. Some couples prefer to come in weekly, while others prefer bi-weekly or monthly sessions. Similarly, individual clients may choose the structure and routine of set appointments or a more flexible approach. This is discussed during the first appointment.
In very general terms, I usually see couples for approximately 8 sessions on average. Individuals vary from short term (6 appointments) to longer term (30 plus).
It is essential that therapy is available as widely as possible and that those seeking support with mental wellbeing are not disadvantaged due to financial circumstances. I do have some concessionary appointments. If required, please get in touch to explore.
I use secure Zoom platforms to see clients online. If that system does not work for you I can provide Teams also. You do not need to pay to use these services as I have a business subscription.
Once we agree a date and time, you will be sent an invoice with bank details for you to make a BACS payment. Alternatively, I am able to accept Paypal.
This is an important question, with a complex range of possible answers depending on your personal situation. I do not offer an emergency or personal crisis service and urge you to contact 999 if you fear for your safety.
Working online with a couple who are experience domestic abuse requires specific measures to be put in place, for safety. This can create a high risk situation that may fall outside of the proficiency of many therapists. However, I do accept clients where there has been domestic abuse. The caveat to this is that there is a desire to accept responsibility and work through ways to display emotions in a healthy non-aggressive way. If you would like to explore this I would be happy to have an introductory appointment to answer any questions for us all.

This book has a special place in my heart as the contents inspired me to become a therapist, many years ago now. I personally recommend this for anyone wishing to embark on the world of therapy and Toad's self discovery through counselling with Heron, and the lens of the Wind in the Willows!
Revolutionary read that brings together mind and body as parts, to be explored and accepted.
