Resonance Counselling & Psychotherapy Ltd – Winter Newsletter
Dear clients and colleagues,
As we move toward the end of the year, I wanted to share a few updates about my practice, including upcoming training and some reflections on mental health during the festive season. Whether you are a current or former client, please know that you remain an important part of Resonance.
Checking My Availability – Calendar Page
At this busy time of year, you may notice it takes me longer to respond to emails. You can quickly and easily view my availability through the online calendar on this website.
Simply visit the calendar page to request a session time for ADHD therapy, couples counselling, or any other service.
Book online appointment
Once submitted, you will receive either:
- a confirmation of your booking, or
- an alternative time if your chosen slot has already been taken or is no longer available.
Continuing Professional Development – What I’m Studying
Autism Awareness Certification
I’m currently undertaking Autism Awareness Certification with the National Centre for Autism and Mental Health.
This training deepens my understanding of different autistic experiences, sensory profiles, communication, and the barriers many autistic individuals face in mental health settings. I am an invested neuro-affirming practitioner and always interested in attending courses to broaden my knowledge, including neurodivergent therapy approaches.
EMDR Training – Beginning in the New Year
I’m excited to share that I will begin EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) training in the new year.
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy for trauma, PTSD, distressing memories, and emotionally overwhelming experiences. This training is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
BPS Clinical Supervision Certification – RAPPS Registration
On 15th December, I will complete my BPS Supervision Course, which allows me to join the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS).
Mental Health at Christmas
The festive season can bring joy, rest, and connection—but it can also intensify loneliness, grief, stress, financial worries, and family pressures. If you are finding things heavy or overwhelming, please know you’re not alone.
For past and present clients:
My door is always open. If you feel you would benefit from…
· one-off session
· a free 30 minute check-in
· restart therapy, including gender-affirming therapy,
you are warmly welcome to get in touch.
A Note on Client Files & Data Protection
For clients who have ended therapy:
- If I have not heard from you for six weeks, I will close your notes as part of routine clinical practice.
- Under Data Protection regulations (DPA), I will store your closed notes securely for the legally required duration.
- You are always welcome to return to therapy in the future—just get in touch when you’re ready.
